Applying Your Changes

When you select or deselect a category in the Detailed View of the Backup screen, the WD SmartWare software keeps track of your selections. Each time you make a change (select or deselect a category), you can click Apply Changes to record your new settings before starting your backup.

If you do not apply your changes and subsequently click Run Backup, the Apply Changes message appears to indicate that you need to apply your changes before backup can begin. From this window, you can both apply your changes and continue to automatically start backup, or you can cancel your changes and edit the Detailed View.

To apply your changes and begin backing up files:

Click Apply and Continue. The changes are applied and backup begins automatically.

To cancel your changes:

  1. Click Go Back to return to the Detailed View on the Backup screen.
  2. Make any desired changes (select or deselect categories); then click Apply Changes to save your selection.
  3. Click Run Backup.

Note: You can also click Run Backup to display the Apply Changes message again; then click Apply and Continue.
