Restarting File Retrieval

The WD SmartWare software stops retrieving files if you disconnect your backup drive from your computer, either inadvertently or intentionally. A message appears to indicate that your drive is unplugged.

To restart retrieval after your drive is disconnected:

  1. Click Continue to exit the message window.
  2. Reconnect your drive to your computer, and then click the Retrieve tab to start retrieving your files.
  3. If necessary, open the WD SmartWare software before continuing.
