Choosing a Retrieve Folder

A default retrieve folder is established in the WD SmartWare software to ensure that files retrieved to this folder are eliminated from future backups. You can accept the default retrieve folder setting, browse to choose another folder, or create a new retrieve destination folder depending on your preferences.

Note: If you select a different retrieve destination folder or create a new destination folder, the content in any previous retrieve folder will be included in future backups, and will consume disk space.

To select a different retrieve folder:

  1. To change the retrieve folder, click Browse, navigate to the desired new retrieve folder, and then click OK. The path to the new retrieve destination folder is displayed in the field.
  2. Click Apply to confirm the change.

Important: Be sure to click Apply to confirm your change. If you do not click Apply, the previous retrieve destination folder is used.
