Erasing Your Drive
The Drive Erase function deletes all the information on your drive, including any or all partitions you have created. You may want to erase your drive if you no longer want any of the data on the drive. In addition, if you forget your password, you must erase (reformat) your drive; WD cannot retrieve your password.
Caution: Erasing your drive permanently deletes all the data on the drive. Always make sure that you no longer want any data on the drive before erasing it.

Note: Erasing your drive removes your password. If you had set a password for your drive, you will need to set another password using Security settings to create a new password.
