Registering Your Drive

Registering your drive provides free technical support during the warranty period and keeps you up-to-date on the latest WD products.

To register your drive:

1. Type your first name in the First name field.
2. Type your last name in the Last name field.
3. Type your e-mail address in the E-mail address field.
4. Select your language in the Preferred language field.
5. Select the Yes, I want to receive communication option to signify that you want to receive e-mail notifications about software updates, product enhancements, and price discount opportunities.
6. Click Register Drive.

Do one of the following:

• If you installed the complete WD SmartWare software application, set other drive options if desired; then click Continue to display the Home screen.
• If you installed only the WD Drive Settings software, set other drive options if desired; then click Exit to exit the application. The next time you start the application or plug in another drive, the Home screen appears with only two tabs; the Home tab and the Settings tab, which allow you to set drive management options for the new or existing drive.
