Note for MS-Windows 98 users only: If you choose to install Java during the OpenOffice.org setup the installer asks you to reboot your system. You should either ignore this message or run the OpenOffice.org setup a second time.
Difficulties starting OpenOffice.org (e.g. applications hang) as well as problems with the screen display are often caused by the graphics card driver. If these problems occur, please update your graphics card driver or try using the graphics driver delivered with your operating system. Difficulties displaying 3D objects can often be solved by deactivating the option "Use OpenGL" under 'Tools - Options - View - 3D view'.
OpenOffice.org 1.1 se puede instalar de manera paralela a una versión más vieja de OpenOffice.org. Si más adelante decide desinstalar la versión de OpenOffice.org vieja deberá activar el programa de instalación de la versión actual y efectuar una reparación. Si durante el inicio del sistema se produjeran problemas al activar el inicio rápido de OpenOffice.org, p.ej. un vínculo no válido, esto puede ser debido a que la unidad de red en la que se instaló la instalación de red correspondiente aún no esté disponible o simplemente no esté disponible.
En la mayoría de los casos esto se produce cuando el registro de la unidad de red se realiza mediante un Script de Login y la conexión de la unidad de red tiene lugar de manera paralela a la ejecución de los programas del grupo Inicio, desde el que también se inicia el inicio rápido.
Para solucionar este problema, se debería intentar conectar la unidad de red mediante los servicios del sistema. Si esto no fuera posible se puede eliminar de manera alternativa el vínculo para activar el inicio rápido del grupo Inicio del sistema, o bien desactivar el inicio rápido ya desde la instalación de la estación de trabajo. Si el administrador del sistema desactiva el inicio rápido ya durante la instalación de red, el usuario no podrá volver a seleccionarlo en una instalación de estación de trabajo posterior.
Debido a un problema con Java(TM) Access Bridge, deberá establecer el idioma del sistema operativo local en "Inglés (Reino Unido)" o "(EN-US)". Sólo con esta configuración podrá trabajar con programas como ZoomText.Puede suceder que el Java(TM) Access Bridge instalado con esta versión de early access no funcione correctamente con las aplicaciones de Java convencionales.
Si desea utilizar Ai Squared ZoomText con OpenOffice.org 1.1 , necesita la versión 7.11 o una más reciente. La fecha de la descarga de Ai Squared ZoomText debe ser posterior al 12 de junio del 2002 para que contenga las mejoras necesarias.
OpenOffice.org le ofrece la posibilidad de sustituir el tipo de fuente, utilizada en la visualización en pantalla y en la impresión, por otra fuente instalada en el sistema. Para modificar el tipo de fuente de la interfaz del usuario de OpenOffice.org, deberá sustituir la fuente predeterminada "Andale Sans UI" por otra fuente y marcar la opción "siempre".

En OpenOffice.org sólo se pueden utilizar aquellas combinaciones de teclas que el sistema operativo no emplee. Si una de las combinaciones de teclas no funcionara en OpenOffice.org tal como se describe en la Ayuda del programa, compruebe si el sistema operativo la está empleando ya. Para solucionar este problema puede cambiar las combinaciones de teclas asignadas por el sistema operativo.
